Description from the seller
Impressive pocket watch for the blind, from the prestigious watchmakers ANGELUS, with hour and quarter chimes, in excellent condition and with excellent functioning. The watch comes with its original box. It is a very scarce watch, since only a few soldiers and high-ranking soldiers who were recognized for their valor in World War I and who were blinded by the gas bombs used in the war were produced. As I note, it is a watch highly sought after by major collectors, given its scarce production and the reason for which it was made. The watch measures 5.5 cm in diameter. Blind-dial, metal, signed ANGELUS LE LOCLE (Suisse). Set the time using the tab above the number 1. Opening the front cover by pressing the button that has the crown. Front cover with a beautiful engraving commemorating the war. Back cover inscribed HONNEUR AUX HEROS POUR LE DROIT 1914-1915. Dust cover with the inscription GRAND PRIX BERNE 1914. Movement in excellent working order. The hour and quarter chiming works wonderfully, with a beautiful sound that makes this watch extraordinary. The photos do not do justice to its true beauty. The watch has no dings or dents and all its covers open and close perfectly. The watch is so well preserved that it looks almost unused despite its more than 110 years of age.
