Description from the seller
Pair of Vormenfabriek Tilburg Baby Face Chocolate Moulds
A rare pair of early chocolate moulds produced by Vormenfabriek Tilburg, the renowned Dutch manufacturer whose moulds supplied confectioners throughout Europe during the late 19th and 20th centuries. These examples depict expressive infant faces, each with distinct modelling and character, rendered in pressed metal with a pleasing sculptural quality.
Originally intended for the production of hollow chocolate figures, the moulds today offer appeal both as collectible confectionery-related ephemera and as decorative objects in their own right. The finely modelled features, reflective surface, and unusual subject matter lend them a strong visual presence whether displayed individually or as a pair.
Examples of figural moulds from established European makers have become increasingly sought after by collectors of culinary antiques, advertising and confectionery memorabilia, and decorative industrial design. These pieces retain their authentic working character, with signs of age and use consistent with their original purpose.
