Vintage studio glass vase by Erwin Eisch, handmade in 1979 in Frauenau, Germany, in postmodern style, signed and in excellent condition with a pontil mark underside, height about 16 cm, diameter 15.5 cm, weight 1,193 g.

Description:
Up for auction is an extraordinarily large and heavy masterpiece by the world-renowned German glass artist Erwin Eisch (1927–2022).
Eisch is regarded, together with Harvey Littleton, as a founder and pioneer of the international studio glass movement.
This spherical vase was freely hand-formed in 1979 at the Frauenau Glassworks. As a genuine work of postmodernism, it combines expressive, organic forms with a decorative character.
Condition:
Excellent condition:
The object is in a flawless, absolutely collectible condition. No chips, no flea bites, no cracks, and no deep scratches. The glass shows superb gloss.
Manufacturing features:
On the underside there is the characteristic rough break (pontil mark) – the unmistakable marks of pure handwork.
Signature:
On the underside, handwritten by the artist with a diamond needle and dated: “Eisch 79”
