Edited by Ernest Flammarion, Paris, no date, probably around 1890, 294 pages, in French.
Original half-leather binding, marbled boards. In very good external condition, with slight signs of wear and small scuffs at the ends, spine slightly damaged. Inner pages well bound. Pages clean, edges browned. Stamp from the era on the first page (see photos).
Magnificent illustrated edition of this Daudet novel, in French. In a village where hunting is so passionate that no game lives nearby, the inhabitants tell hunting stories and throw their hats in the air to shoot the game.
