Two Lime (Chunam) Boxes Killotaya (Killota) - Silver - Sri Lanka - 19th century

Betel nut box, SIRIH box, from Sri Lanka.
Two pieces, silver, or silver-plated metal.
A box in which betel nut and lime were kept, and which one carried with them.
With chain and with spatula.
With clear residues of lime in the box, and on the spatula.
Nicely worked, good patina, boxes have been polished.
The boxes can be opened.
Probably from the early 20th century.
1. Large box, finely worked, weighs 74.2 grams, dimensions 7.7 x 5.5 x 2.3 cm.
Chain length 18 cm.
2. Small box, smooth surface, weighs 23.9 grams, dimensions 4.3 x 3.1 x 1.4 cm.
Chain length is 18 cm.
