A beautiful antique pewter pitcher manufactured by the renowned German metalware company Gerhardi & Co (Lüdenscheid).
This piece is a classic example of German Jugendstil (Art Nouveau) design from the early 20th century (circa 1900–1910).
The body of the pitcher is intricately decorated in high relief with organic floral motifs and geometric patterns, characteristic of the era's decorative arts. The underside features the authentic Gerhardi & Co maker's mark (the distinct star symbol), the model number 1610, and the capacity mark 1 1/2.
Gerhardi & Co was famous for its high-quality pewter and collaborations with prominent designers of the Darmstadt Artists' Colony, making their numbered models highly collectible.
