This work in the format 80 × 80 × 4.5 cm is created on a broad, high‑quality canvas and moves between painting and sculpture.
In the light the surface unfolds a clear presence. Depending on the incidence of light and viewing angle, the texture and depth change, individual planes come to the fore more strongly. The work appears spatial and physical – perception arises in walking, standing, lingering.
Frequency DARK OLIVE — Sculpture of light, structure & presence
Frequency DARK OLIVE is inspired by sound and frequency. From my work as a pianist I transfer rhythm, pause and repetition into a visual structure. The composition follows a reduced order. Repetitions create tensions comparable to held tones, while subtle color shifts mark transitions.
Artwork details:
Title: Frequency DARK OLIVE
Size: 80 × 80 cm × 4.5 cm
Technique & materials: Acrylic paint and heavy-gel texture paste on canvas, built up in layers with various scrapers. The pigments form elevations and overlays with calm, pulsing tension.
Only materials of the highest quality are used: acrylic paints from Amsterdam Expert, texture pastes from Liquitex – all produced locally in Austria.
Frame: Wide carrying frame made of solid natural wood (included in the price).
(Black decorative frame not included)
Images: The photos were taken under professional studio lighting. Light is essential for the color play of the works. The artist recommends placement under direct or indirect light to fully bring out the color play and make the works come alive.
To provide a better understanding of the works and the interplay of light, I encourage buyers to view the videos of the different works on Instagram at @sarah.schwarzl.art.
Signature & authenticity: Hand-signed on the back. Delivery with signed certificate of authenticity.
Location: Directly from the artist’s studio in Vienna.
Market presence: Comparable works are in private collections and galleries priced between €2,500 – €3,000.

Sarah Schwarzl’s artistic language developed from movement and music. Dance was her first expression, later followed by the piano. Both shape her understanding of rhythm, structure and tension.
