Walking cane with a black polished wooden shaft and a handmade silver 800 head depicting a detailed raptor, dating to 1900–1910, in discrete condition with likely small missing pieces and measuring about 83 cm tall, 7.1 cm wide and 3.5 cm deep, attributed to Mario Talarico of Naples.
Description from the seller
This splendid and elegant antique walking cane is a top-tier collectible piece, made by the Mario Talarico company of Naples, a historic name famous worldwide for artisanal excellence. The item belonged to my grandfather, so I do not know the exact age of this piece with precision, but it is presumably from the late 19th century or the early 20th century. The cane features a glossy black wooden shaft and a refined silver handle (there is no hallmark, at least I don't see one; no visible mark to the naked eye; however, according to verification by a jeweler, the metal appears to be 800 silver) worked by hand, depicting a raptor head rich in expressive details. As this is an authentic object with many years of history behind it, it is offered in the condition in which it was found: it has not been polished, precisely to preserve its precious original patina of the time that collectors love and seek. For utmost accuracy, please note that the item shows a slight and natural crack, a small sign of age that testifies to its authenticity without spoiling its charm. Please carefully view the attached images, as the photographs are effectively an integral and fundamental part of the description for verifying the piece's real historical conditions.
