Terrano from Sicily, Italy, offers two 500 ml bottles of PDO Olio Extravergine di Oliva 100% Italiano, a 100% Italian extra virgin olive oil produced in Sicily, featuring the Teste di Moro motif.
Description from the seller
Lotto consisting of 2 500 ml ceramic jars representing the famous Teste di Moro, of extra virgin olive oil produced by Terrano, Sicily - Italy.
TESTE DI MORO
Bottiglia Testa di Moro 500ml
The project stems from the idea of creating a bottle that represents the “Sicilianity” of an oil, to be presented to giftware, gourmet, and Sicilian specialty shops both in Italy and abroad.
The idea of reproducing one of the most famous “symbols” of Sicily is to provide a craft object linked to one of the Sicilian oils, so that the consumer keeps a memory of this land and a keepsake even after the contents are finished.
The legend of the “Testa di Moro” dates back to the XI century, when the Moors invaded Sicily and became part of the population, to the point of blending perfectly with the Sicilian populace. The story of this vase will be included on the bottle label, also to provide the consumer with all the details of the origin of this vase found throughout Sicily.
The bottle is made in glass from a mold designed with two views: on one side the design of a female face, on the other side the design of a male face. It is produced in dark glass or white lacquer, possibly decorated in some details (mouth, eyes, necklace, etc.) to create different versions of the bottle for the retailer. The bottle design has been filed with the Chamber of Commerce of Catania to guarantee the originality of the container.
