Description from the seller

Thuya's Voyage en loupe, Napoleon III -
Century 19th Century
Napoleon III Style

Description
Beautiful travel writing in thuya magnifying glass and blackened wood with brass inlays depicting a monogram in the centre, surrounded by foliage, elegant volutes and mother-of-pearl.
This writing book is characterized by its eventful and bulging lines. On the top, each side has a thuya magnifying glass surrounded by nets of rosewood and brass, framed by blackened wood. The edges are dressed in rounded brass sticks. The upper part opens with an original key, accompanied by its lock in working order. We discover three mail lockers forming a correspondence sorter.
The opening of this storage space allows the writing part to open with brass hinges. We discover a rosewood entourage and a beautiful red leather with cold vignettes, golden vignette and small angles. A high-part tongue opens up a mahogany storage space.

In addition to the functional aspect, you will appreciate the ornamentation of this Napoleon III writing cabinet. A beautiful object that attracts attention and arouses curiosity.
