This painting is created using a mixed technique of acrylic paint and charcoal on cartridge paper (mounted on cardboard) and is titled “Heat source.” The artwork depicts a warm naked female figure lying vulnerable on an old Dutch tiled floor, with in the background a tiled wall featuring pink figures.

Ruben van Veen (1960) lives and works in Gouda, the Netherlands, and studied drawing and painting at the Volksuniversiteit in Gouda and at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague. He has been exhibiting since 1992 both domestically and internationally. His work is included in museum and private collections.
In 2016, the catalog "Ruben van Veen/ Drawings, Paintings, Cardboard" appeared, a selection of his work from 1995–2016.

Dit schilderij is gemaakt in een gemengde techniek van acrylverf en houtskool op strokarton ( geplaatst op karton) en heeft de titel “Heat source”. Het kunstwerk toont een warm naakt vrouw-figuur kwetsbaar liggend op een oud-Hollandse tegelvloer met op de achtergrond een tegelwand met roze figuren. 

Ruben van Veen (1960) woont en werkt in Gouda, Nederland en volgde teken- en schilderlessen aan de Volksuniversiteit te Gouda en de Koninklijke Academie van Beeldende Kunsten in Den Haag. Hij exposeert sinds 1992 in binnen- en buitenland. Zijn werk is opgenomen in museale en particuliere collecties. 
In 2016 verscheen de catalogus "Ruben van Veen/ Tekeningen Schilderijen Kartonnen", een selectie van zijn werk over de periode 1995-2016.
