Description from the seller

Traditional Arabian jambiya dagger with a distinctly curved steel blade and an elaborately decorated sheath.

This decorative collectible is presumably from Yemen or Oman and represents the typical form of the traditional jambiya, which on the Arabian Peninsula for centuries has been worn as a status symbol and part of attire.

The sheath is enhanced with artfully executed metal appliqués and has a leather-covered wooden core. The grip features traditional metal embellishments and a beautiful age-related patina. The curved steel blade is in good, wear-related condition.

An attractive ethnographic collectible and decorative display piece for enthusiasts of Oriental weapons and craftsmanship.
