Description from the seller
Set of 3 Indian Skeleton Leaf Paintings in Bamboo Frames – 20th Century
An elegant and highly decorative set of three handcrafted artworks from India, created using the traditional technique of painting on natural skeleton leaves. Each composition has been carefully hand-painted directly onto the delicate leaf structure, creating a remarkable visual effect that combines the natural transparency of the leaf with vibrant, detailed colors.
The set depicts three iconic themes of Indian culture: a woman wearing a traditional sari, a pair of praying hands in the “Namaste” gesture, and a classical Indian dancer in an expressive pose. The artworks are presented in their original natural bamboo frames, enhancing their exotic and decorative appeal.
These pieces are fine examples of Indian folk craftsmanship from the second half of the 20th century and make an attractive addition to interiors decorated in ethnic, colonial, bohemian, or Oriental styles.
