AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Mid-19th century English glass/ceramic vase by Minton (Stoke, Staffordshire) in Imari style. It bears the underglaze mark “B-B NEW STONE” and catalog number in red 5194. This number corresponds in the Minton pattern book to production named “Oriental Japan.” The letters "B-B" stand for "Best Body" (the best body), a trade term by which Minton guaranteed the highest quality of the clay body used. The six-pointed star corresponds to the factory year 1849. Elegant and of high quality, with twin handles and a bulb-shaped body, it is decorated with the delicate motifs of the Imari tradition. The typical lotus flowers, symbols of purity and spiritual elevation, are hand-painted with underglaze colors in iron-red, salmon, and blue on a white ground with gold outlines. A small bird flies among them.

The condition is very good. On the upper rim, as highlighted in the last photo, there is a small nick.
