LeYack's Cocktails & Fountain - Hand-signed, a 2022 digital giclée on canvas, limited edition of 20 numbered copies, 40 × 40 cm, signed on the front and back with a certificate of authenticity, produced in France and shipped direct from the artist in good condition.
Description from the seller
A 1950s American bar at night. A waitress in a cobalt blue dress, with a pearl necklace, stands behind the counter and looks at the viewer with that indefinable expression — neither cold nor welcoming, simply there. Behind her, in a mirror, her own back. Around, red neons: Cocktails, Live Jazz; bottles of Seagram's; the paper towel dispenser; two eyelets in a glass of water. Everything is perfect, documented, melancholic.
The Yack paints Hopper better than Hopper sometimes — or rather, he paints what Hopper would have painted if he had wanted his subject to be as sharp as his solitude. The mirror's double transforms the composition into a question: who are we really looking at?
