Description from the seller

Magnificent work by the master of Italian late 19th-century genre painting attributed to Odoardo Toscani.
A masterfully executed oil on panel depicting the splendid hills of the Monferrato with in the background the town of Mombaruzzo, which gives the work its title.
Dedicated or commissioned by the Doctor Delzanno - Gaudio.
Title and dedication visible on the back of the work.

Coming from the collection of Dr. Boa, a well-known antiquarian collector in Padua who has recently passed away.
A piece that we as a company have managed to acquire, together with a sizeable quantity of other works of quality, directly from his heirs.

Works by the same author to which the painting is attributable, in evidently smaller dimensions, have achieved excellent results at various international auction houses such as Sotheby’s and at smaller houses like Wannenes, Maison Bibelot and Capitolium, among others.

Signature of the author at the bottom right.
Very large dimensions exceeding two meters in width.
Signs of age and wear clearly visible in the photos.
Photos as an integral part of the lot description.

Insured and trackable shipping.
