Description from the seller
Artwork no.710
Dimensions: 85,00 x 65,00 x 2,50 (cm)
I create paintings using acrylic paints and thousands of small pieces of recycled paper: everyday paper is transformed into art instead of ending up in the trash. In my latest works I focused on the theme of women treated as objects (dolls) and too often victims of violence, and these are the latest pieces I have made.
"Not your doll" - "I am not your doll" is a series where I intend to represent female faces with features reminiscent of the most classic dolls, and the message is: "even if I look like a proper doll, I am not a doll, your doll, and you can do whatever you want with me" with everything that lies behind it, up to, unfortunately, violence.

This work is unique and original.
Each work is securely packaged, wrapped and protected for worldwide shipping, including a Certificate of Authenticity.
A shipment tracking number is provided.
This piece will be shipped without a frame and without a stretcher as the work will be sent in a tube. The canvas is larger than the painted dimensions because the bigger surface is useful and necessary to be able to stretch the canvas on a frame.
It is recommended to have the work stretched and mounted by a trusted professional who can also advise on a suitable frame if needed.
Images showing the work in indoor settings are for illustrative purposes only and the proportions may appear different. The actual dimensions are those indicated in the description.
Different light sources can give different colors to the photos.

Born in 1974 I am self-taught.
After an initial period dedicated to sculpture there was a long pause lasting almost twenty years. Since December 2014 I have returned to the “two dimensions” for reasons of time and space, leaving sculpture aside and dedicating myself to acrylic paintings.
I love painting abstract landscapes but recently I have been pushing myself to paint faces of people both imaginary and actually existing.
For me painting is "freezing time" in that exact moment; one of my paintings is often a faded memory and therefore my works are "worn, eroded by time". Sometimes the subjects of my paintings are views of walls also eroded by time, with moss and fungi that – over time – grow on the surface.
Time that passes inexorably is the main theme of my works.
Coming from a beautiful experience with clay manipulation, I love sculpture, the third dimension, the sense of touch and my paintings are often characterized by reliefs clearly perceptible both by touch and to the naked eye.
In this recent period, after several years during which my works were made from small pieces of recycled paper forming figures, I am venturing to explore Optical Art where I use painted wooden discs arranged in lines and grids repeated with mathematical rigor that, when viewed up close, seem to form an abstract colorful painting but the farther you go, the more a portrait emerges from the 768 painted wooden discs.
Violence against women is a theme that characterizes almost all my works when I reproduce female faces, precisely to give them a voice when they do not have the strength or courage to report the fact that they are not their partner’s dolls and they cannot be mistreated or worse, victims of violence.
