Description from the seller

TABASCO HOT is a 70 x 100 cm painting by Flavia Delgado that transforms a simple gastronomic still life into an image full of visual energy and character. Inspired by the aesthetics of vintage advertising posters and the graphic language of Pop Art, the work celebrates the power of intense flavors and the symbolic strength of one of the most universal ingredients in cooking: chili.

The composition centers on a plate overflowing with red and green peppers arranged as if they were the protagonists of a mid-20th-century classic advertisement. Its brightness, color and arrangement generate a sense of abundance and vitality. Above them rises the large title TABASCO HOT, which turns the image into a kind of iconic poster where gastronomy and design meet.

The color palette is dominated by luminous yellows, deep greens, vibrant reds and intense blacks. The contrast between warm colors and graphic shadows provides visual strength and dynamism, evoking both retro advertising and traditional commercial illustrations. Expressive lines and bold outlines reinforce the sense of freshness and energy.

Beyond representing food, the work speaks of sensations. The chilies symbolize intensity, passion and vitality. Their presence recalls kitchens full of aromas, colorful markets and culinary traditions where flavor becomes an emotional experience. The image celebrates the pleasure of simple ingredients capable of transforming a recipe and awakening the senses.

The composition also has an almost symbolic dimension. The peppers appear as an explosion of color and character against the clean, luminous background, becoming emblems of strength, personality and authenticity. The work conveys a sense of optimism and energy that connects with the joy associated with good food and popular gastronomic culture.

With a vibrant, direct aesthetic and full of personality, TABASCO HOT turns a daily still life into a powerful visual statement about flavor, intensity and the pleasure of enjoying life with all the senses.

Seller's Story

I present a pictorial work line strongly linked to illustration and artistic poster design. My works combine the language of classic poster art with the plastic freedom of contemporary painting: flat colors, defined contours, direct scenes, and a clear narrative sense. My work dialogues with the tradition of 20th-century poster art, especially with the universe of Art Deco and European and North American advertising posters, where authors like A. M.. Cassandre, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, and Leonetto Cappiello used synthetic imagery and color for visual impact. There are also affinities with European comic graphics and the clear line, from Hergé to modern editorial illustration. In my paintings, I depict interiors, architectures, figures, and travel scenes—such as roads, vintage cars, or landscapes—approached from a graphic perspective reminiscent of posters and illustrated books, but transferred to the realm of painting on paper and canvas. I aim for each image to function like a frame or a narrative poster, capable of suggesting a broader story without needing to explain it.
