Description from the seller
AMA • Pope (1985) - "EmerJesus" - 1/20
Complete your Pop Art collection with this wall artwork “EmerJesus”, featuring a deep black frame, a yellow-and-black danger background, and a red emergency box containing a crucifix, in a 20-copy limited edition for 2026.
“EmerJesus” distorts the codes of emergency boxes and industrial aesthetics to question our era: at a time when technology, money, and permanent urgency dominate our lives, what remains when everything collapses?
With its message “In case of emergency / Break glass”, its red/black/yellow contrast, and its crucifix placed as a last resort, this piece plays on a strong tension between faith, irony, provocation, and the need for salvation.
Everything was handmade: composition, staging, integration of the box, striped background work, and assembly in a ready-to-hang frame.
Treat yourself to a work that is as spiritual as it is subversive, perfect for a pop art, contemporary, and striking decor — to be unveiled only in the case of the end of the world.
Bid now on “EmerJesus”, a provocative, symbolic piece and a truly collectible item.
Numbered artwork, dated, signed and delivered with certificate of authenticity "AMA".
Fast and careful shipping (bubble wrap, tissue paper, and cardboard) with signature on delivery.
Who is Pope?
Pope, co-founder of the AMA collective, develops a singular artistic universe driven by a practice of visual arts since childhood, a high standard of detail, and meticulous visual research.
Through sculptures, paintings and installations, he draws inspiration from photography, urban landscapes and everyday scenes, with a sensitive and amazed gaze, attentive to both the simplicity and the complexity of the world around him.
Pope mainly draws inspiration from the world around him but also from movements of renowned artists such as Banksy, Keith Haring, Koons, Orlinski, Takashi, Fred Allart, Shepard Fairey, Warhol, Yayoi Kusama, Richard Hamilton, Jean‑Michel Basquiat, Alec Monopoly, KAWS, Pantone, Mr. Brainwash, Blek le Rat, to name a few.
Whether it’s a gift, a memory, or your personal collection of contemporary art, you’ll easily find your favorite thanks to the diversity of our works. Indeed, Pope pursues his passion for urban art through street art (streetart) and pop art (popart) (in limited edition or not), tackling a wide range of themes such as cryptocurrencies (Bitcoin, Ethereum), the dollar, money, gold, wealth, the sex industry, the harms of drugs, luxury brands and haute couture, the world of comics and video games, the pharmaceutical industry and medicines, recycling and upcycling, food and fashion industry products (sport, sneakers...),
Brands guide our choices and often our lives without us realizing it. Aware of this impact, Pope likes to mischievously distort labels such as Louis Vuitton (LV), Chanel, Dior, Hermès, Prada, Gucci, Rolex, Yves Saint Laurent (YSL), Supreme, Obey, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche, Bugatti, AMG, Mercedes, Nike (Air Jordan), Adidas (Stan Smith), Coca-Cola, Pepsi, Marvel and Avengers (Batman, Joker, Superman...), Disney (Mickey, Scrooge McDuck...), Nintendo, Sega, Tintin, Lego, Pokemon, Vans and many others.
Dear bidders, our collective makes every effort to ensure that all information necessary to assess the lot for sale is clearly detailed in the listing: dimensions, weight, description and photos... After the sale, no unjustified claims will be accepted. Thank you for your understanding.
