Medsan, Samurai Glow (侍のグロウ), a 2026 unique 1/1 giclée square 40 × 40 cm, hand-signed, edition limitée, from France, in Pop Art with a self-care theme.
Description from the seller
THERE IS ONLY ONE IN THE WORLD - EDITION 1/1
With this square-format artwork, Medsan signs a pop mashup, deliciously offbeat, surprising a tattooed warrior in the middle of a beauty routine. Seated cross-legged, the body is fully covered with dragons (irezumi), long hair and a bun on the crown, the giant wears a fabric care mask on the face and holds a pot of cream, while a delicate glow sparkles beside him. The whole stands out on a soft pink background punctuated by waves in the style of Hokusai and the sign « メドサン » (Medsan). This unique giclée extends the artist’s beloved series of playful anachronisms.
The visual strength of the composition lies in its assertive graphic language: bold blocks of color, strong black outlines and sumptuous tattoo lines, nods to the world of Utagawa Kuniyoshi warrior prints. The stylized waves borrowed from The Great Wave off Kanagawa and the zingy pastel palette anchor the scene in an unapologetically pop aesthetic.
The impact of the work rests on its gentle humor: the hard-boiled tough guy, surprised in the gentlest ritual of contemporary self-care. Medsan plays on the contrast between warrior virility and the modern cult of self-care, in a mischievous wink at everyday codes.
A fun, graphic, and witty piece, ideal for adding a colorful, pop and offbeat touch to a contemporary interior — a favorite with fans of Japanese culture as well as self-deprecating humor.

About the Atelier:
Atelier Joconde is a studio of artists gathered around a living, plural contemporary creation. Installed as a true hub of artistic production, the studio operates both in collective creation and in individual approaches, depending on the projects and works. Atelier Joconde is also a family adventure. Le Yack, a contemporary figurative painter, develops a narrative and introspective body of work with cinematic and realistic influences. By his side, Medsan, oriented toward pop art painting, explores color, modern iconography, and the visual culture. Finally, Neo Pablo pursues a more instinctive search, blending abstract art, brut art, and figurative abstraction. Each work is conceived, created, and followed within the studio, with a shared artistic standard and an identity of its own for each artist.
