Medsan presents Klimt Joker & Harley (ジョーカーとハーレイ) – UNIQUE WORK, a 40 × 40 cm giclée on wood, signed, 2026, in excellent condition; edition 1/1, produced in France, depicting a Pop Art mashup inspired by Klimt’s The Kiss and DC’s Joker and Harley Quinn.
Description from the seller
ONLY ONE IN THE WORLD EXISTS - EDITION 1/1
With this square-format work, Medsan orchestrates a bold and gilded mashup, fusing one of the most emblematic masterpieces in art history — Gustav Klimt’s The Kiss — with the most toxic and fascinating couple of pop culture: the Joker and Harley Quinn. Embraced in the famous golden embrace, the two cursed lovers replace the original figures: Harley’s dress is decorated with playing card symbols (hearts, spades, clubs, diamonds) and harlequin diamonds, while the Joker’s coat echoes the geometric pavements cherished by the Viennese master. This single print bears its cartouche “ジョーカーとハーレイ・クイン”.
The visual strength of the composition lies in its radiant golden surface, alluding to Klimt’s Gold Period and its gold leaf, and in the profusion of ornamental motifs — spirals, floral rosettes, a foreground of wildflowers below. The characteristic make-up of the two DC Comics characters contrasts with Art Nouveau splendor, creating an irresistible tension.
The artwork’s impact rests on this vertigo: the sublime Romanticism of the Vienna Secession put at the service of a mad, destructive passion — the “Mad Love” that unites the Joker with his accomplice. Medsan distorts the icon of tenderness to make of it an ambiguous celebration of love gone mad.
A golden, graphic piece and decidedly contemporary, ideal for bringing a touch of elegant, dark, and pop flair to a design-minded, collector’s interior — a perfect bridge between lovers of classic art and pop culture.

About the Studio:
Atelier Joconde is a studio of artists gathered around a living and plural contemporary creation. Set up like a true center for artistic production, the studio operates both as collaborative creation and as individual approaches, depending on projects and works. Atelier Joconde is also a family venture. Le Yack, a contemporary figurative painter, develops a narrative and introspective body of work with cinematic and realistic influences. By his side, Medsan, oriented toward pop art painting, explores color, modern iconography, and visual culture. Finally, Neo Pablo engages in a more instinctive exploration, mixing abstract art, outsider art, and figurative abstraction. Each work is conceived, produced, and followed within the studio, with a shared artistic standard and an identity unique to each artist.
