Bio:
Angelo Accardi was born in 1964 in Sapri, in the province of Salerno. After a brief spell at the Academy of Fine Arts of Naples, in the early 1990s he opened a personal studio in Sapri and began a study of figuration with a social backdrop. His artistic path is aimed at the perpetual search for hidden human sensations to be discovered. Magical urban and interior compositions, elaborations of a sophisticated painting and vision system, that strike and daze the viewer. He participates in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Italy and around the world. He has exhibited in the most prestigious Italian and European galleries, and in 2011 his works from the Misplaced collection were exhibited at the Italy Pavilion of the 54th Venice Biennale. His prices began to rise in and from 2012 he participated in the most important contemporary art fairs worldwide. He exhibits in important international galleries and his art evolves in a particularly distinctive way, maintaining the same stylistic signature while renewing itself in a surprisingly fresh manner. Angelo Accardi’s art is one that describes, deepens, and simultaneously feeds on the styles and stresses of modern living. Urban landscapes or interior views of houses and museums, which the artist “stops” as only a hidden camera can do and which, filtered through original pictorial interpretations, become expressions of an interesting and complex personality. In his canvases the symbol becomes the interpretative key to an hidden reality. Angelo Accardi is currently one of the Italian artists most internationally known. He lives and works in Sapri.
