Description from the seller

Rare armchair model A413/2F, designed by Josef Frank in 1930 for Thonet.

This exceptional model merges the traditional Viennese bentwood craftsmanship with Josef Frank's modern design language. The elegant silhouette, the curved armrests, and the distinctive backrest with Viennese wicker make this design one of the most interesting pieces of furniture in Austrian modernism.

Made from bent beech wood with a lacquered finish, plywood seat, and original wicker backrest. The original Thonet factory stamp is present.

Josef Frank is today regarded as one of the most important designers of the 20th century. Original, early Thonet implementations of his designs are rarely found on the market and are highly valued by collectors worldwide.

Good condition for its age with authentic patina and signs of wear appropriate to its age. The Viennese wicker is in good condition.
