**PAIR OF MAIOLICA VASES – BMC BARRAUD MESSERI & C. – SESTO FIORENTINO, 1930s/1940s**

Refined pair of hand-painted maiolica vases, produced by the Sesto Fiorentino workshop **BMC – Barraud Messeri & C.**, one of the most esteemed Tuscan artistic ceramics of the 20th century. Both pieces are **numbered and signed on the base** with the BMC mark and the title of the depicted subject.

**Subjects**
- *Adonis and Venus* — mythological scene with moving figures across a landscape
- *The Rape of the Sabine Women* — historical-mythological scene with figures in classical attire

Both vases feature an amphora shape on a base, with distinctive **serpentine handles** molded in ochre yellow with black spots, orange terracotta rimming, and rich multicolored painted decoration on a neutral background. Height: **30 cm** each.
