From evening classes to fine arts, to applied arts, Alex Verdenne begins formal drawing, academic art, at the dawn of the 1990s.
But very quickly he chooses to free himself from it because convention is not in his DNA. “The painter must cultivate imagination.” He joins the street world, the world of graffiti. Spray painting completes his artistic education. From this burgeoning art, he develops a sure and precise gesture, mastery of a rapid line, painting freed from tridimensionality, chromatic flamboyance, simplification of a composition, a different perspective.
From cubism to free figuration, Alex draws his own codes from it, he asserts the freedom of automatic line and the use of balanced colors.
