Meereswogen, an oil on canvas from 1900–1910 in the Moderne style, by the Deutsche Schule (XX), originating from Austria, titled Meereswogen, depicting a marine landscape, signed Handsigniert, 66 × 55 cm, sold with frame.
Description from the seller
The first image has been optimized with a digital image editing program.
Bottom right there appear to be remnants of a signature, but it is no longer identifiable.
Probably oil - technique
Wave action
A characteristic, atmospherically tuned work by the well-known marine painter, who with great mastery and fondness not only depicted ships but, above all, the sea itself—the foaming and stormy, moving waves both on the open sea and in the surf zone. Oil/canvas; L and signed; Including frame: 66 cm x 55 cm. The frame is included but defective and will be included with the package as packing material for proper shipping.
Oil on canvas. Signed.
You will receive the magnificent frame for free as a gift.
Oil on board
The usual text: signs of aging, wear, cracks, possible flaking, see photos,
Literature: 'Painter of the Sea - Marine painting in three hundred years' among others.
Disclaimer: The painting bears very close resemblance to the painter Patrick von Kalckreuth, but that does not mean it necessarily originates from him. Since the signature is no longer readable, it could theoretically also be by other painters such as, for example, Max Jensen or many other painters who may have painted in this style as freelancers or perhaps even imitated it. I am unfortunately not an art expert and therefore must point out that you as the bidder should form your own opinion based on the photos and your own research and make your decision whether you want to bid on the painting.
The frame visible in the photo is provided as a service and is not an integral part of the work. Any damage to the frame does not constitute a valid reason for complaints or cancellations of the order.
