Description from the seller
The book "Canada," written by Wilfred Campbell and illustrated by T. Mower Martin, first published in 1906, includes a detailed description of the country and 77 color illustrations in addition to a folding map.
The presented volume features a full blue morocco binding and a fine edition with gilt titles, floral imblems, decorative borders, and a gold crest, typical of luxury editions of the era.
The binding is perfect and tight, the blue leather cover is exceptionally well preserved and shows only slight abrasions, the gold parts are intact and bright, the illustrations, protected by tissue guards, are perfect and complete, and the endmap at the end is in excellent condition.
On the pages there are rare and light brown spots.
On the back cover the ex libris of the noblewoman J. A. Sinclair indicates provenance, and on the first page there is a handwritten dedication, signed Linda Will (?).
This full blue morocco copy is extremely rare as it represents a premium variant, compared to the standardized leather and pasteboard bindings, produced only for luxury editions.
