ALGO - Sauvage

Created in 2025, while the artist was still living in Brittany near the coast, Sauvage is part of a series devoted to nature in its most raw, free, and untamed state.

The work is built around a dialogue between deep reds and almost incandescent orange flashes. The strata of material, scratches and successive overlays evoke a landscape in permanent transformation, where the boundary between abstraction and evocation of the real remains deliberately uncertain.

At the center of the composition, a denser form seems to emerge from the background, like growing vegetation, a beacon of light, or an elemental force manifesting itself. This ambiguity is characteristic of ALGO’s work, which favors suggestion over direct representation.

Inspired by the Breton coastal landscapes and their sometimes hostile energy, this painting seeks less to depict a place than to translate a sensitive experience of nature: its power, its unpredictability, and its independence from human action.

The richness of textures and the handling of matter give the work a significant physical presence, reinforcing the impression of a living nature, in motion, always on the verge of transformation.
