Description from the seller
Elegant centerpiece / fruit bowl in frosted crystal with a base in 800 silver, of Italian production, attributable to Florentine craftsmanship.
Era
Second half of the 20th century, plausibly 1960s–1980s.
The hallmark with star + number + provincial code “FI” (Firenze) is typical of the Italian system introduced after 1968, which identifies the silversmith and the production province.
Provenance
Italian production – Florence (FI), important historic center of artistic silverware.
Punzonatura
Title: 800 (silver 80%)
Mark: star + identifying number (334) + FI
This system certifies both the silver purity and the registered silversmith.
Materiali
Cupola/Bowl: crystal cut with frosted finish and engraving
Base: solid 800 silver (probably hollow structure with inner core, typical Italian production)
Tecniche di lavorazione
Crystal worked with cutting in geometric and floral motifs (classic “molato” style)
Profile formed with wavy edge
Base in silver made by:
- casting and turning
- mirror-polishing
- possible hand finishing
The contrast between the transparency of the crystal and the brilliance of the silver confers great elegance and luminosity.
Dimensioni
Length: 33 cm
Width: 15 cm
Height: 12 cm
Stile
Italian classic dining style, with echoes of mid-century elegant taste, suitable both as a fruit bowl and as a decorative element.
Condizioni
Excellent overall condition
Crystal free of breaks
Osservazioni
Refined decorative object, typical of Italian production intended for both the refined domestic market and export. The presence of the complete hallmark increases collector interest.
