Kai Clements

Kai Clements (alias Kai & Sunny), born in 1975, is a UK-based artist. He studied at the Epsom School of Art in Surrey, where he earned a highly commended degree in Art and Design.

Kai & Sunny's works are characterized by vibrant color palettes, fluid movement, and meticulously layered compositions. Executed in acrylic on linen and pen on archival paper, each piece is instantly recognizable and reveals a subtle balance between precision and spontaneity, giving Kai's practice a unique visual signature.

The name Kai & Sunny carries a strong ethics of collaboration with other artists, emphasizing the collective. This approach unites talents around the idea of “unity” and allows the artist to evolve and flourish continually.

Through its affiliation with the collective, Kai Clements (Kai & Sunny) has collaborated with Tiffany & Co, on musical projects with Toydrum (the score for Slow Horses) and on narrative projects with author David Mitchell (Cloud Atlas). Collaborating with artists and exploring different domains of innovation and expression enriches the unique working process to which Kai attaches great importance.

“I am fascinated by the power of the natural world and by the exploration of those precious invisible moments, such as the frequencies that hum at the heart of nature. My aim is to immerse the viewer in the forces of nature and to use color, light and movement to take them on a journey.” Kai Clements
Kai Clements has also collaborated with prestigious street artists such as Obey alias Shepard Fairey, D*Face...
Kai Sunny is a leading figure in the international contemporary art scene and, more specifically, in street art, on par with colleagues JonOne, Kaws, Chevrier, Seen, JR, M.Chat, Imbue, Peeta, Pantone, Okuda, Bordalo II, Basquiat, Banksy, Arsham, Keith Haring, Damien Hirst, Obey, Invader, Futura, Jeff Koons, D*Face.
