Description from the seller
Overall condition: Magnificent period patina for this rare game. The pressboard carton is sound, showing uniform wear along the edges and corners that attests to its historical authenticity. The engravings and stencil colors remain fresh and perfectly legible. Sold as is, without manual or original box.
Origin: France. There is a handwritten note from a collector indicating a French state fiscal stamp on one of the cards.
Dimensions (cm): Approximately 12 cm x 6.5 cm (standard size for 19th-century cartomancy games).
Shipping method: Ultra-secure shipment with triple protection (bubble wrap and rigid cardboard), exclusively with tracking and insurable value ad valorem corresponding to the object's value.
Additional information:
Extremely rare complete 78-card deck of the Grand Etteilla - Type I (19th century). This early iconographic variant is particularly sought after by specialists. The back of the cards is of great delicacy, adorned with a geometric checkerboard motif in original combination of sepia and green. An exceptional museum piece, ideal for collectors of old tarot and historical esotericism.
