Francesco Dezio, Inabissarsi, oil on cotton canvas, 40 × 50 cm, signed and dated 2025, in excellent condition, an original edition sold directly by the artist with a certificate of authenticity signed by the artist from Italy.
Description from the seller
Diving (Inabissarsi) is a work that explores the boundary between surface and depth, between identity and dissolution. The face emerges — or perhaps sinks — in a thick, vibrating water, where the paint becomes liquid, reflective, almost dreamlike.
Francesco Dezio uses a reduced but intense palette, with directional brushstrokes and spatters that evoke the movement of water and the fragmentation of perception. The reflection is not a mirror image, but emotional: a distorted echo of interior life.
The title suggests a voluntary gesture, almost ritual: to sink not as an escape, but as a deep immersion into oneself. A work that speaks of transformation, of silence, and of the beauty that lies beneath the surface.

Artist biography
Francesco Dezio is a painter and illustrator. His work moves between figurative painting and social critique, with a sharp yet empathetic gaze on the contemporary world.
His style, defined as Disrupt Realism, takes reality and inverts it with irony, surrealism, and solid technique. At the center of his works are often marginal characters, subjects of everyday life who become icons of a new urban mythology, fragile but alive.
On Catawiki he offers exclusively original and certified works, with professional shipping.
