Description from the seller
Title
Serge Donadio (born 1947) – Still life with peaches, glass and books – Oil on canvas
⸻
Description
Elegant oil-on-canvas still life by Serge Donadio (born 1947), depicting a refined arrangement with peaches, grapes, bottle, glass and books, laid out on a marble surface.
The work stands out for an extremely careful and realistic execution, with particular attention to light effects and transparency, visible in the rendering of the glass and the reflections of the liquid. The composition is enriched by a red drape that frames the scene and helps to create depth and theatricality.
The basket of peaches, central element, is treated with great precision in details and color variations, while the secondary elements – grapes, books and bottle – complete the compositional balance with a nod to the classical still life tradition.
