Description from the seller
ARCHITECTURES
Laura Rucoba
2026
Unique artwork (1/1), composed of three handmade sculptural elements.
This work belongs to the ARCHITECTURES series, an artistic investigation that explores the different forms of shelter created throughout human history: dwellings, nests, sanctuaries, refuges, and protective spaces. The series reflects on the universal human need to find a place of safety, belonging, and harmony with the surrounding world, both physically and emotionally.
Created in fiber-reinforced cement with ground glass, each sculpture was individually modeled and carved by hand using a fresh-carving technique. The sculptural forms evoke archetypal constructions and inner landscapes, representing humanity’s enduring search for protection, permanence, and connection.
Through essential geometric forms and organic textures, the work establishes a dialogue between architecture and memory, between constructed space and the intimate experience of inhabiting it. Each element functions as a metaphor for the places that contain us, transform us, and allow us to feel secure within the world.
Materials: fiber-reinforced cement and ground glass.
Technique: handmade, modeled, carved, and finished by hand.
Edition: Unique piece (1/1).
Condition: Excellent condition.
Dimensions of installation: approximately 15 × 38 × 8 cm
