The present offer comprises the three volumes of the Finances section from the monumental Encyclopédie Méthodique, issued 1784–1787 by Charles-Joseph Panckoucke in Paris (as well as by Plomteux in Liège).

The Encyclopédie Méthodique is the largest publishing project of the French Enlightenment and the systematically organized successor to the famous Encyclopédie by Diderot and d'Alembert – a Gesamtkunstwerk that ultimately encompassed over 200 volumes and appeared from 1782 to 1832. The Finances section is among the politically and economically historically significant early installments: it appeared just before the French Revolution and reflects the finance and taxation system of the Ancien Régime in its final phase.
