Andrea Krauß counts among the prominent positions of contemporary German painting. The prizewinner of the Kunstpreis der AOK Nordost (Berlin/Brandenburg) and former fellow of the renowned Künstlerhaus Lukas in Ahrenshoop completed her studies at the Braunschweig University of Fine Arts. For many years she has devoted herself consistently to painting and today lives and works in her studio in the heart of Berlin.

At the center of her artistic work is the connection of memory, atmosphere and landscape. Starting from personal impressions, Andrea Krauß develops pictured worlds that go beyond the individual and touch universal experiences of nature, space and transience. Recurring motifs are especially birches and other elements of nature, whose quiet presence merges with traces of human creation and memory.
