Description from the seller
Magnificent complete grand Bible set in 4 volumes (Old Testament in 3 volumes and New Testament in 1 volume), published in 1975 by Euro-Éditions.
This prestige edition is distinguished by the high quality of its production and its magnificent iconography inspired by medieval manuscripts.
Printed in July 1975 on the presses of the Istituto Grafico Bertello in Borgo San Dalmazzo (Cuneo).
Translated from the original texts by a team of eminent specialists: François Amiot (New Testament), Charles Augrain, Louis Neveu, Daniel Sesboüé and Robert Tamisier.
Approbation: Official imprimatur of Paris, February 15, 1975 (E. Berrar).
Full publisher’s binding in havana/brown color, adorned on the backs with rich geometric patterns and fine gold-tooled lettering.
Top edges gilded (head gilding) with the most striking effect in a library.
Richly illustrated edition with splendid illuminated initials, colored border friezes along the text, and full pages reproducing authentic medieval manuscript paintings (reproductions from Edizioni Paoline Roma/Torino).
Layout: Clear two-column text, enhanced by colored decorative initials at the beginning of major chapters.
In excellent condition. The pages are very clean, with no erasures, no underlining, and only minor stains. The paper has retained a lovely freshness.
The spines are magnificent, the gilding is bright and not worn.
Wear: Very light, normal wear to the headcaps and corners (see photos), completely normal for books of this age. Very beautiful overall appearance, ideal for a collector or a lover of fine books.
