Ciudad Dormida
In Ciudad Dormida, the figure emerges as a silent presence within a landscape built from planes of color, architecture, and memory. The face, restrained and almost monumental, integrates with the city as if it were part of its walls, its windows, and its interior spaces. It does not appear as an isolated character, but as a suspended consciousness over the territory.
The work proposes a scene of quiet. The city seems still, wrapped in a blue atmosphere where time moves slowly. On one side, the architecture suggests houses, towers, and passages; on the other, the guitar introduces an intimate dimension, almost musical, as if the scene’s silence carried a hidden melody.
The artist builds the composition through refined forms, intense colors, and a structure close to the language of the avant-gardes. Deep blues sustain the space, while reds, violets, greens, and ochres add tension and visual rhythm. Everything appears orderly in an apparent calm, though beneath that surface lies contained energy.
Ciudad Dormida speaks of an inner place more than a concrete city. It is an image of waiting, contemplation, and memory. Between the figure, the guitar, and the architecture, the work reveals an emotional landscape where the urban transforms into dream and music seems to inhabit in silence.
