Antique English sterling silver pocket watch – H. Samuel Manchester – approx. 1901
Beautiful and large English gentleman’s pocket watch from the well-known Manchester jeweller H. Samuel, featuring a sterling silver case and a key-wound movement.
The white enamel dial is signed “H. Samuel, Manchester – The Accurate” and is laid out with Roman numerals, gilded hands, and a small seconds dial at 6 o’clock. The movement is richly engraved and also signed H. Samuel, Market Street, Manchester.
The silver case bears English hallmarks, including the lion passant for sterling silver (.925) and the Birmingham assay office mark.
