Description from the seller
Description of the work:
Caught in the frozen stillness of a silent fjord, three ships remain frozen, as if suspended outside of time.
The rusted metal, the lights still warm behind the glass, and the white immensity surrounding them tell a story that nobody has truly left… but that no one inhabits completely anymore.
This image speaks of waiting.
Of inner exile.
Of those moments when life seems halted, even as a glimmer persists.
The contrast between the absolute cold of the landscape and the fragile warmth of human lights creates an intimate, almost spiritual tension.
We are not just looking at ships imprisoned in ice…
We recognize a part of ourselves that is still searching for a direction, a passage, a return.
Errance is a work of silence, memory, and discreet hope.
A photograph that imposes nothing, yet accompanies you for a long time.
Artist’s note:
I have always been drawn to places where time seems to stop.
Those places where one feels both solitude, beauty, and a form of peace that is hard to explain.
With Errance, I did not want to show abandoned boats,
but that fragile moment when one no longer knows very well if one is leaving… or returning.
If this image resonates with you,
then it has found its port.
