Ceramic modernist vase from Rosenthal Studio Linie, designed by Johan van Loon (circa 1985), with an organic asymmetrical form and a glazed surface in brown, purple, beige and blue; origin Germany, 1 kg, dimensions 12 cm wide, 16 cm high, 7 cm deep, in excellent condition with minimal signs of wear.
Description from the seller
Modernist ceramic vase in excellent condition (I do not mark it as new due to minimal signs of patina from normal use and a small dot of internal color smearing; no scratches or chips on the surface; the base shows normal signs of use—please look closely at the photos). From the Studio-Linie series designed by the renowned designer Johan van Loon, a Dutch ceramist and textile artist whose works were produced in only a few copies by Rosenthal and are therefore rare (especially in this optimal condition given the shape). A substantial collection of van Loon’s works is held in prestigious museums such as Boijmans; this piece was designed around 1985.
The vase features an organic, asymmetric form, with a raised, undulating surface inspired by the compositions of Zen gardens. The surface is glazed and shaded in various tones of brown, purple beige, and blue, and evokes the Hebrew letter Aleph, a symbol of infinity.
It will be shipped in a reinforced box or preferably a double cardboard box with lots of bubble wrap and protective foam or similar for the fragile parts.
Ships within the European Union and exclusively within the European Union.
