Karl Lagasse, a renowned artist, gained recognition in 2009 with his One Dollar sculptures, ranking among the top ten sculptors under 30 years old according to Artprice that same year. In 2012, the New York publication Farameh named him as one of the fifty best contemporary artists, inspired by traditional American icons, in its book FOR WHICH IT STANDS: Americana in Contemporary Art. More recently, in 2016, at the Art Paris Art Fair, the President of the French Republic warmly congratulated Karl on his impressive two-meter bronze sculpture One Dollar, exhibited at the Grand Palais.

Karl’s artistic journey began at age 7 with collages, prompted by his meeting with sculptor César Baldaccini. He later turned to tagging and graffiti in the Paris metro while continuing to be passionate about collages. The artist Yvaral Vasarely encouraged him to fuse his tags with his collages. In 2003, Karl prepared his first exhibition in Paris, which led to his first solo show in 2006 at Galerie Isy Brachot in Brussels. In 2008, he returned to Paris with an exhibition combining paintings, sculptures, and video elements at Espace Pierre Cardin.

Karl especially enjoys unveiling his works at international exhibitions. In 2011, he was represented by Bel Air Fine Art at the Art Monaco fair with his Cryptogram One creation. The following year, he presented his One Dollar works on the theme "In God We Trust" at Galerie Artco France. His 2016 solo exhibition at Atrium Gallery in Marbella, Spain, was inaugurated by the mayor, who praised his works in front of the international press.

2026: - Finalization of the work One Dollar Green Bronze 8 meters tall, weighing 7 tons. The largest One Dollar sculpture in the world created by the artist.

2025: - Installation of the monumental work Reflection of the Sun. Installed near the very new Pavillon des Bains on the Promenade Michel d’Ornano, inaugurated by Mayor Philippe Augier on September 8.

2024: - Art Miami - Group exhibitions Galerie Nicolas Auvray New York. For the occasion, a 1.80m bronze cryptogram and a 2-meter One Dollar were exhibited during the event.
- 50th anniversary of the Deauville American Film Festival; for the occasion, the artist created 18 bronze trophies as well as a 2-meter sculpture to be installed at the CID. The artists interviewed about the artist and who received the trophy include: Michael Douglas, Daisy Ridley, Natalie Portman, Michelle Williams, Mikey Madison...

2023: - Aspen Saint Regis: Installation of the 2-meter One Dollar in front of the St Regis. The Aspen Times covered the event in a dedicated article.

2017: - Karl Lagasse succeeds the prestigious Cartier House in creating the trophies for the Deauville American Film Festival.

2016: - Art Fair Paris at the Grand Palais
- A two-meter-tall Bronze One Dollar was exhibited at the Art Paris fair.
- The French president visited the exhibition and personally congratulated the artist for his work.
- First showing in Spain at Atrium Gallery Marbella, solo exhibition with new collections in the presence of the international press and the mayor of the city, Jose Bernal Gutierrez. Special performance by his wife, opera singer Cherise Lagasse, who performed pieces from her repertoire.

2015: - Second collaboration with Maserati with the creation of a monumental installation entitled “A Piece of Heaven on Earth.” This work consists of a Maserati covered in a white plastic film and a sculpture of Jesus Christ. Around the car, several sculptures depicting one-dollar bills are placed on the ground, symbolizing the repayment of humanity’s greatest debt.

2014: - Maserati presents for the world premiere the Maserati Ghibli revisited by artist Karl Lagasse on the occasion of the brand’s 100th anniversary.
