Description from the seller
Michael Fantozzi is an Italian-American artist with international reach, recognized as the original creator of the famous sarcastic clay fish that have captivated collectors around the world.
From his iconic artistic research, today emerges “Little Light Pokémon,” a new exclusive series of LED-lit works that fuse contemporary art, design, and pop culture. Each creation is entirely handmade by the artist, without the use of molds or industrial processes: every piece is therefore absolutely unique and unrepeatable, with no identical copies or reprints. Every detail is personally modeled, refined, and assembled by Michael Fantozzi, making each piece the direct result of his artistic and manual inquiry.
Behind every work lies a long effort of research not only aesthetic but also technical and material. Michael Fantozzi carefully selects materials studied to guarantee quality and durability over time. The frame itself is an integral part of the artwork: a special closed plexiglass box frame, chosen specifically to protect the work from dust and preserve over time its integrity, luminosity, and collectible value.
This series is enriched by the presence of Bitty Pop Funko Pokémon characters and is made with high-quality materials: hand-modelled clay, LED light details, individually applied rhinestones, and carefully chosen acrylic colors from various European and non-European countries. Particular attention is given to iridescent pigments, capable of changing tones and reflections depending on the angle of light, an element that testifies to the artist’s ongoing search for innovative and distinctive materials.
Michael Fantozzi’s creations are today collected and sold internationally.
Each work is:
- titled, numbered, and signed by the artist
- accompanied by a certificate of authenticity
- complete with a plexiglass-protected frame box
- ready to hang
- shipped with professional and protective packaging
The artist’s large-format works have been exhibited at important international events, including the Milan Biennale, the Rome Biennale, the Florence Biennale, and numerous exhibitions throughout Europe.
Michael Fantozzi has also been awarded at Montecitorio as Italian Excellence Abroad, a recognition that confirms the value and international impact of his artistic production.
He has also been selected and published in Italy’s most famous art magazine, Arte editoriale Giorgio Mondadori, another testament to the recognition obtained in the contemporary art landscape.
Behind the ironic and colorful aesthetics of his works lies a strong and timely message: a reflection on pollution, especially marine pollution. Through fish decorated with symbolic elements such as cigarettes, chewing gum, bottles, and objects from contemporary culture, the artist gives a voice to marine animals, silent victims of human impact. The result is a provocative, original, and immediately recognizable visual language.
A Michael Fantozzi work is not just an art object, but a contemporary collectible piece capable of uniting emotion, design, material research, and meaning.
