Description from the seller
Title: Eclipse (XXL)
Theme: "Eclipse" (XXL) belongs to the artistic line begun over 40 years ago by Fran González (Contemporary Gilding). His work centers on reinterpreting gilding as an artistic language and contemporary luxury. In Fran González’s work, gold leaf and other metals (imitations or authentic) are used as expressive and symbolic materials, beyond their ornamental value.
"Eclipse" in particular is a large-scale work, elegant and with a luminous golden glow. Its richness of textures, strong visual presence, and Zen aesthetics are a tribute to the Energy of Life. This piece is designed to fill any interior space with magic and warmth.
The work is delivered with a certificate guaranteeing its originality, authorship, and provenance.
Technique: Acrylic and Gold on synthetic canvas. Application of multiple layers of imitation gold leaf with acid-placed patinas.
Warnings: to facilitate transport and reduce shipping costs, the work is delivered unframed and unmounted, rolled up on itself and with a double protective wrap.
It is also noted that the color proportions appearing in some photomontages (mockups) may not always correspond to reality and are offered only as a reference for how the piece functions in a contemporary interior design context.
--------------------------------------
About gilding techniques: The traditional gilding technique consists in applying very thin sheets of metal (gold, silver, imitation gold [i.e., brass], aluminum, copper, etc.) onto any artwork surface (wood, metal, ceramic, textiles, etc.).
Contemporary Gilding: Contemporary gilding techniques are unique and exclusive to Fran González and stem from the experimental philosophy of 20th-century contemporary art, developed over more than 40 years of professional career, which bring to the works qualities that radiate a magical light that permeates the space where they are displayed.

Fran González in the media:
(Article about FG in the European Portal of Craftsmanship "Mad’in Europe" (Excerpts))
"Fran(cisco) González is a ceramist, sculptor, painter and contemporary gilder whose practice unites traditional craftsmanship and innovative technique. With more than four decades of experience, his work reflects a continuous dialogue between material, process, and inspiration. His main gilding method, used about 80% of the time, is water gilding, which he chooses for its lower toxicity and sustainability, especially when working indoors...
Much of Francisco’s work draws inspiration from archaeological artifacts and ancient cultures. Whether the Greeks, the Etruscans, the Phoenicians, the Romans, the Chinese, the Japanese, or the rich hybrid Arab culture in Spain, his fascination lies not only in past forms and techniques but in the emotional resonance they carry. This emotional depth permeates his ceramics, gilded sculptures, and even his evolving jewelry design work.
This curiosity led him to prehistoric origins and, gradually, to experimenting with new materials and forms..."} }```
