Giennadij Pitsko – Visual artist of Polish origin, born in 1970. In 1991 he graduated from an artistic high school in the ceramics department. Since 1991 he has been involved in painting and ceramics. Since 1992 he has been engaged in various artistic projects. His works are incredibly colorful stories about what surrounds him. Giennadij Pitsko’s dynamic painting is distinguished by warm, vivid, and saturated color palettes, an atmosphere of fantasy and the exoticness of the female figures, and also the ability to manipulate the texture of paint applied with a palette knife on canvas. The artist uses brush and spatula. Giennadij Pitsko’s painting is very recognizable thanks to a distinctive color scheme, showing fascination with French artists such as Claude Monet and Amadeo Modigliani. Twenty years ago in Sopot, he saw an exhibition of Jerzy Duda-Gracz and fell in love with creating with palette knives at first sight. Since then he has consistently worked in this technique. He also rejected the traditional way of portraying figures, instead drawing on the experiences of contemporary painters. Giennadij Pitsko’s works are in collections of institutions as well as private collectors and in other European countries and beyond Europe. The artist has participated in numerous national and international exhibitions and plein airs, both solo and group. He currently lives and works in Rumia.
