Description from the seller
Title: Fragmented Face #60
Series: The 1000 Faces
Technique: Acrylic on canvas
This work offers a deeply geometric and intellectual interpretation of the cubist portrait, where the human figure fuses mathematically with the surrounding space. The face, vertically sliced by a fine, pristine central black line, breaks radically with traditional representation through a fascinating formal duality. The left hemisphere presents a creamy light complexion, dominated by a richly detailed large almond-shaped eye with a blue eyelid and a series of semicircular black dots decorating the lower area as tears or tribal ornament. Meanwhile, the right hemisphere takes on a soft pink tone, where the eye is conceptually replaced by a concentric sequence of red and brown circles that seem to float or multiply over the cheek, extending outward from the head as a striking headdress or spherical earring. The hair is structured by overlapping rectangular blocks in brown, red, and light blue. The neck and torso prolong this constructivist fragmentation, interlacing cubes of mustard yellow, gray, and pure black, blending seamlessly into a grid-backed background that balances different shades of blue, ochre, and dark reddish brown. The result is a sophisticated painting that blends the classical portrait with geometric abstraction and synthetic cubism. The vibrant color palette and the sharp hard-edge lines create a visually powerful piece. It is an ideal work for collectors seeking a fusion between the figurative and modern abstraction, imparting a distinguished and avant-garde presence to any space.
The canvas is carefully rolled and securely packaged in a sturdy tube for shipping.

Artistic Series:
The 1000 Faces is an artistic project conceived as an evolving collection, designed both for its conceptual value and its projection in the contemporary art market. The series proposes the creation of 1000 original works, each unique, numbered and linked to a common recognizable visual language, which makes the whole a solid and collectible body of work.
My artistic practice centers on reinterpretation of the portrait through a geometric and contemporary approach. Each face is built through color planes, defined lines, and fragmented structures that generate balanced yet dynamically altered compositions. This tension between order and rupture gives each piece its own identity while maintaining coherence within the series.
The use of color is intentional and strategic: contrasts between warm and cool tones that provide visual strength and immediate appeal, qualities especially valued on platforms like Catawiki, where first impressions matter. Clean, modern, and highly recognizable compositions facilitate their integration into various spaces, both private and professional.
From a collection perspective, The 1000 Faces is presented as a progressive acquisition opportunity. Each work is numbered (for example, #001 / 1000), reinforcing its limited character within the global project and adding long-term value. As the series grows, so does its relevance and coherence as a body, increasing interest for collectors.
This project not only offers visually striking pieces but also a clear and consistent narrative: an exploration of contemporary identity through repetition, variation, and formal synthesis. In the context of online sales, these qualities position each work not only as a decorative piece but as part of an artistic project with vision, continuity, and potential for appreciation.
The 1000 Faces is conceived to be collected, evolved, and consolidated as a recognizable series within accessible contemporary art.
