Ramon Rozas Vilar is a well-established 20th-century landscape painter whose work focuses on capturing the light and atmosphere of Spanish geography, with special emphasis on Catalonia (views of Olot, the Empordà, and the Costa Brava). This fine work depicts two boats on the coasts of Catalonia; the artist uses warm tones (earths and ochres) for the sand, which contrast with the vibrant blues of the sky and sea, applied with a spatula or a thick brush, a hallmark of his authorship.
