Author and Artist: Giorgio Trevisan, renowned Italian painter and illustrator.
Technique and Materials: Series of 23 stunning etchings incised on zinc and entirely hand-printed with an intaglio press. The prints are made on exquisite Rosaspina Artistica paper from the historic Fabriano papermills.
The lot includes the original colophon hand-signed by the author Giorgio Trevisan, bearing the official numbering 10/30
The 22 Major Arcana of the Tarot reinterpreted through the allegories, the milestones and the most significant figures of the Italian Risorgimento (e.g.,)
Case/Box: Original rigid, high-artisan craftsmanship case with a red/gold marbled motif and the golden scarab stamp on the front. On the back of the box is inscribed in gold "ESEMPLARE N. 10". The case is in excellent condition, with minimal signs of time.
Cards/Prints: 23 total plates (22 Arcana + 1 illustrated title page). The fronts of the cards are printed in a deep, clean intaglio black. The backs of the cards show the natural and fascinating porosity and the slight shades typical of historic Fabriano artistic paper. They have no creases or tears.
