Educated at the Academy in Valenciennes.
Learned the watercolor technique under G. Simonau and maintained contacts with Claus, Schaefels, van Moer, and Verlat.
Was a member of the Société Belge des Aquarellistes.
Participated, among others, in the Three-Year Salons in Antwerp (1879, 1885), Brussels (1866, 1872-1881, 1900), Ghent (1874) and at the “Exposition Universelle et Internationale de Bruxelles” in 1910.
His work can be found in the museums of Brussels, Antwerp, and Groningen.
