In enchantment on the Coast, the artist captures the vibrant, sunlit essence of the Amalfi Coast or of a Mediterranean village perched on the sea. The painting unfolds along a diagonal that divides the majestic stretch of sea from the rugged coastline. To the right, a dense cluster of typical houses climbs up the cliff. The dwellings are rendered in warm, pastel tones, fading from ochre yellow and cream to warm pinkish and purplish hues toward the hilltop, creating a suggestive play of light and shadow. In the foreground, the Mediterranean vegetation bursts into a rich palette: textured strokes of bright pink, red, white, and emerald green describe a lush blooming of bougainvillea and climbing plants. Among the flowers one catches a glimpse, resting by the shore, of a small wooden boat.
